Where: Meet by the public restrooms at Cullinan Park, 12414 Highway 6 South, Sugar Land.
Join Texas Master Naturalist Tierra Ortiz-Rodriguez for a uniquely mindful nature walk at Cullinan Park to observe the signs of spring. Tierra will lead the 90-minute walk with mindfulness, explaining the practice to enhance and heighten observational skills using sensory awareness and focused attention. Using these observational skills participants will look, listen and feel for signals of season change. Concepts of mindful movement, intentional breathing and focused attention with sensory perception aid the participant in experiencing natural surroundings with enhanced awareness. Use of these intentional techniques to enhance observational skill is excellent preparation for Citizen Science bioblitzes, nature journaling and nature photography.
