RE-scheduled from December….Join Katy Prairie Conservancy as we sip holiday cocoa and marvel at the vast, illuminated night skies at Indiangrass Preserve. The Fort Bend Astronomy Club will provide multiple indoor presentations throughout the event, telescopes for solar viewing in the late afternoon, and night sky viewing after dark. Join us as we observe the sun, the sunset, far away constellations, galaxies, and more!
For this special event, we will also provide the opportunity for solar viewing before sunset. For those that wish to come to both, you will have the opportunity to take in one of our spectacular prairie sunsets while waiting for nighttime viewing.
4:00 pm to 6:00 pm – presentation and solar viewing
6:00pm to 7:00pm – ongoing presentations
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm – presentations and nighttime viewing
Cost: $3 per person. Registration includes both day and/or nighttime viewing.
Audience: All ages
Cancellation notice: Because stargazing requires clear skies, the event may be canceled and rescheduled due to inclement or cloudy weather. In the event of cancellation, KPC will still provide the opportunity for a sunset stroll to sip cocoa and look for signs of wildlife on the Indiangrass Preserve trails.
