This month’s focus is on Soil Insects.
Each month the Coastal Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists will lead a guided Insect Hike with a unique theme.
Participation is open to the public and all ages are welcome.
Bring a camera or zoom lens for close ups, or use camera phone with magnifying glass. This event is entirely outdoors so wear appropriate clothing for season. Closed toe comfortable hiking shoes recommended. Hike may be canceled during inclement weather.
Where: Meet in the main parking lot of Seabourne Creek Nature Park by the public restrooms by 9:00am.
Directions: Seabourne Creek Nature Park is located at 3831 TX-36, Rosenberg, TX 77471 across from the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. Enter the park from HWY 36 just south of I-69 and adjacent to the Rosenberg Civic Center. Look for the brown wooden park entrance sign next to the Civic Center building. Turn in and proceed to the parking lot .3 miles on the left.
Participate in Citizen Science! If you’d like to help contribute to
Community/Citizen Science while on the hike, have the
iNaturalist or
Seek by iNaturalist (for younger users) application downloaded on your smartphone. Not familiar with iNaturalist? Texas Master Naturalists from the Coastal Prairie Chapter will be on hand to assist you.
