AT: Native Bees and Growing Native Bloomers – Lecture & Field Trip to Morning Star Prairie Plants & Nash Prairie

In person at Brazos Bend State Park – Dining Hall.   Workshop is free.  On entrance to the Park, identify as a workshop participant to have entrance fees waived for day use.  Lectures will take place in the Dining Hall followed by field excursions to Morning Star Prairie Plants and Nash Prairie.  Seating is limited to 120 participants.  Pre-registration required (see sign up genius.)

Morning Star Prairie Plants, Clark Haven, local chapters of the Native Plant Society of Texas and Texas Parks & Wildlife are pleased to present a Native Bees and Growing Native Bloomers workshop on Sunday April 7th at Brazos Bend State Park. Please register via the SUG  in the Slack AT channel to reserve your seat. A small donation is requested to cover the rental of the Dining Hall.  Wear clothing suitable for hiking and bring your brown bag lunch & refillable water container.

Speakers:

Carol Clark is an amateur botany enthusiast, a Texas Master Naturalist, and longtime member of the Native Plant Society of Texas.  She and her husband own and operate Clark Haven, a wildlife preserve and custom wildflower seed business in Cooke County. Learn about the challenges all bee species are facing, why bees matter to all of us & facts about solitary native bees and they lifestyle.

The second session will reveal the secrets of growing healthy & attractive native prairie plants from our regions best grower – Mark Morgenstern.  There are two field trips after the Brown Bag lunch. A 1:00pm Tour of Morning Star Prairie Plants nursery and 2:30pm Tour of Nash Prairie.  Tour concludes at 4:30pm.
