Spring Field Trips! Karl Baumgartner is hosting 5 separate nature hikes for newer chapter members and recent graduates for the Spring season. These outdoor excursions include a tour with interpretive hike on secluded properties featuring woods, prairie, ponds, and river frontage. Karl has years’ of experience conducting restoration work and will discuss the challenges and success stories managing these diverse habitats.
Watch for the Sign-up Genius invitation for each month’s offerings. More details available in AT & 2023 Classes Slack channels. Registration is limited to 20 participants plus interpretive guides. Driving directions and liability form will be provided in SUGs. A signed release of liability waiver is required before joining each hike. Car pooling is recommended, and all driving distances are calculated from the Rosenberg Civic Center. Restrooms will be available. Bring own sack lunch and water, comfy camp chair and dress for weather conditions. Entire event is outdoors. Each event will have 2-3 hours of field time plus break for lunch.
Tuesday March 12 & Saturday March 16 – Baumgartner Pond, Fort Bend County
Tuesday April 9 & Saturday April 20 – El Lobo Ranch, San Bernard river property** (date changed from April 13th to April 20th)
Saturday May 11 – Lavaca Ranch, Wharton County
The hike portion of each excursion qualifies for AT credit.
