AT: Ranger Trek on the Prairie: Fall Flowers and Grasses

Join us for our monthly nature hike on the Katy Prairie Preserve! This month’s theme is “Fall Flowers and Grasses.” Enjoy the last blooms of the summer and the heavy seed heads of prairie grasses.

Enjoy a guided hike through the prairie, exploring different areas each month

Observe and learn about wildflowers, insects, and birds

Finish with pond dip-netting at the prairie potholes
All ages are welcome. We’ll start with a brief overview and safety talk. Please wear outdoor clothing including sun/insect protection and close-toed shoes (high socks/boots preferred). Please also bring a water bottle. Binoculars and cameras are welcome. Rain or shine!
