Topic: Wetland Types and Trends in Texas with Rachel R. Fern, TPWD
With roughly 7.6 million acres of wetlands, 4.4% of its total land area, Texas has the fifth largest wetland acreage in the United States. Wetlands are critical ecosystems that provide services, including wildlife habitat, flood control, water quality, and carbon storage. Protecting and restoring these wetlands is essential for maintaining the health and resilience of both natural and human communities. Recent trends and challenges to wetland management in Texas are discussed in this webinar. Speaker: Rachel R. Fern, TPWD
