Karl Baumgartner, a dedicated early member of the Texas Master Naturalist Coastal Prairie Chapter (TMN-CPC) is scheduled to speak at the upcoming Chapter meeting on June 6, 2024. Karl’s experience in overseeing the development of Seabourne Creek Nature Park, his extensive knowledge of land management and wildlife, along with the development of several of his personal properties makes him an expert in this field. During his talk, he will share his journey in locating and transforming rural properties into thriving nature centers. Topics will include the selection of native plants, management of natural habitats, control of invasive species, and the creation of ponds to support diverse wildlife.
Several outdoor properties that Karl has established are used by the Chapter for wildlife observation and outdoor activities. His insights into managing these spaces offer valuable lessons for conservationists and nature enthusiasts alike.
