How do fungi and soils interact to create healthy ecosystems? Join Teri MacArthur as she discusses the complex functions that tie all the soil elements of natural systems together. Interactions between organisms can be fascinating when you look closely. You may be surprised to learn about predatory fungi, carbon-storing microscopic mycelium, and poisonous but critical species!
Teri MacArthur serves The Woodlands Township in her role as Volunteer Coordinator and Water Conservation Specialist in the Environmental Services Department. She has been a Texas Master Naturalist since 2001, and in the Heartwood Chapter since its inception in 2004. Teri is also a member of the Native Plant Society of Texas – Pines and Prairies Chapter as well as a Lifetime member of The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. – a nonprofit organization operating in Montgomery County.
The Texas Master Naturalist program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
