In the past, Susie Doe, our resident native plant expert, has presented a Plant Morphology-Terminology-How-to-ID-Plants Class to teach about the parts of plants and how to use that information (and other good stuff such as keys, range maps, iNat, etc) to become more proficient at identifying plants. She had hoped to present this class again in 2020 in the summer, but Covid got in the way and 2021 & 2022 passed by as well.
Well now the time is finally right for the class to be presented once again! The full class is about 8 hours long. It will be held over two Saturdays, Jan 21 and Feb 4 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm in the AgriLife Extension’s TTVN room. This class will be held in-person only, no Zoom.
The class agenda for both Saturdays will generally contain 2-2.5 hrs of instruction in the morning, have lunch (bring your own), and then 2-2.5 hrs in the afternoon. The topics covered by Susie on the two days will be completely different. So it is important to attend both sessions if you can.
You may register for the class via SignUp Genius which will be sent by email to all chapter members. We prefer to have attendees there for both Saturdays, but if you can attend only one, please indicate that on the SignUp Genius. Class size is limited, so sign up quickly.
This course has been approved for AT credit. So you can probably get your AT hours needed for recertification in 2023 completed early over these two Saturdays!
