TMNCPC Members Only Program: How to Become a Backyard Astrophotographer

April 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Amber Leung with one of her Astrophotos.

This will be our first chapter program presented live through Zoom! Details on how to access Amber’s presentation through Zoom has been emailed to all members in advance.   Amber’s presentation will be open to TMNCPC members only.

Our April program, presented by TMNCPC Past President Amber Leung, will give audience members a tour of our night sky. From the planets and moons of our own solar system, to star clusters, comets, nebulae, and even other galaxies. Ms. Leung will explain how she captured detailed photos of each without the use of a telescope. Audience members will hear about techniques they can use to create their own night sky photos in their own backyards. Too much nighttime lighting? It can make backyard stargazing tough and can have an impact on the circadian rhythms of anything from people to birds, or even sea turtles. Ms. Leung will share how to improve nighttime views with some simple light fixture updates that are easy on the eyes and wallet.

The Texas Master Naturalists program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
[Members: record 1-1.25 hour of AT: Chapter Meeting-Coastal Prairie plus about 30 minutes of VSP under Chapter Business: Chapter Meeting]
