VSP: 2025 Saturday Outreach at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land

March 8 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Join us in reaching out to the community every 2nd and 4th Saturday at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land.  Share your knowledge of nature in a beautiful setting with families and kids at the museum.

March-Dragonflies- the T-Rex of the Insect World  3/8/25 and 3/22/25

Co-Leads-Ellen Bynum/Ana Jaramillo

  • Learn some interesting facts about dragonflies-their lifecycle and what they eat.
  • Learn about types of dragonflies you might see in your backyard
  • Make a dragonfly craft from maple helicopter seed pods

We will have two shifts per Saturday-the morning shift from 10:30-1:00 and the afternoon shift from 1:00-3:30.  We are asking that 2 people sign up per shift to assist the lead with outreach.  Additionally, we have a new slot this year for a backup volunteer and/or members who would like to observe or be trained on the topic or the respective WOW presentation.

Questions?  Contact Katie Sallean or Jamie Fairchild. Look for the SignUp Genius pinned to the #vsp channel in Slack or on Tuesday’s emailed Weekly Bulletin.
