Hello All,
We are excited to continue our ecological restoration of the Jefferson Early Learning Center in Alief ISD (14061 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77083). This highly innovative campus opened in August and serves as a model of what bringing big nature to schoolyards for human health and wellbeing, as well as biodiversity and resilience can look and feel like. We need 10-16 volunteers on December 14, 2022 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm to help us continue this restoration. Our task will be to sow more native wildflower/grasses seeds, plant small eastern gamagrass sprigs, and cut seed heads from an invasive grasses. This work will involve volunteer jobs that are easy to moderate physically. Volunteers need to register using this link. Before the event, I will send you more detailed instructions.
On the day of the event, volunteers should bring a water bottle, wear long pants, comfortable old sneakers or rubber boots, gloves (we will have gloves too), and a hat.
If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to reach out.
Sincerely,
Jaime Gonzalez
