Come join us for the 2019 City Nature Challenge! Let’s help Houston become the WILDEST city in Texas! This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. You don’t have to be a bird or plant expert as this is a great learning opportunity for ALL ages!

Event starts at 9:00am and participants can feel free to stay as long as they’d like or til 1:00pm when we conclude our challenge.
EVENT TIPS:
- We recommend that all participants come dressed for some easy hiking, wearing comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Please no sandals/flip-flops.
- Wearing a cap, sunscreen, and insect repellant is highly encouraged.
- Don’t forget to bring your smart phone or camera to document observations for the challenge.
- If you have binoculars, bring them along for bird watching.
- Prior to the challenge, we recommend that participants create a FREE account with iNaturalist. This is the app that the City Nature Challenge will be utilizing for the challenge. It is available for free for Apple or Android.
- The Seek App by iNaturalist may also be downloaded for younger participants.
- Come prepared with water and snacks.
