November is here and Christmas Bird Counts are not far behind. This year the third annual Fort Bend CBC will be held on Tuesday December 17 2024 (starting at 7:00am) in line with our typical timing. Last year things worked out well with 113 species and 47 participants. A bit down from our inaugural year of 123 species but as you may recall some species like Cedar Waxwings were slow to arrive. We did better with ducks but sparrows were sparse. Given the movement of birds this year so far I am hopeful it will be another interesting count. We plan to have similar areas as well as one or two new areas to cover. Please let me know if you are interested in participating again (or for the first time) this year and if you have a preference for location. Good Birding,
