VSP: Kleb Woods Ecological Survey- Pine Trees for insect infestation

February 4 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

The next ecological survey at Kleb Woods will be held on February 4 from 9 – 11 a.m.  Precinct 4’s Arborist will be surveying pine trees on the north end of the park for signs of beetle infestation.  The survey will include marking trees that may need to be removed, and taking photos of any insects or evidence can be found that will help identify the species of beetles present when an affected tree is found. There is a lot of area to cover, and volunteers from the TxMN community are invited to help!  Anyone interested can register here: Kleb Ecological Survey – Feb 4

These surveys occur monthly, and future dates are: March 18, April 15, May 20, June 3, and July 15. The focus of these surveys is TBD.

Join our Ecological Surveys to learn about local biodiversity and contribute to habitat management at Kleb Woods. Designed for nature enthusiasts aged 14+, participants will get hands-on experience with survey techniques, species identification, and ecological data collection. All skill levels welcome! For questions, email  or call 281-357-5324.
