VSP: Coastal Prairie Conservancy, Formerly Katy Prairie Conservancy – Stewardship Saturdays

“Looking for a way to get your hands dirty on the prairie?” Look no further. Join the Coastal Prairie Conservancy for its Stewardship Saturdays!”
All are welcomed to participate – no experience necessary! Groups larger than ten individuals, please contact volunteer@coastalprairieconservancy.org to register.
Who: Coastal Prairie Conservancy (CPC)
What: Assist CPC in removing invasive species; clearing fences of vegetation; and planting Texas native plants.
Where: Indiangrass Preserve 31975 Hebert Road  Waller TX 77484
When: Every 2nd Saturday of the month, 9:00 – 11:00 AM
Why: That’s what TMNCPC’s do!
Physical Requirements: Bending, kneeling, or sitting on the ground; some light lifting.
What to wear: Closed-toed shoes, tall socks, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat.
What to bring: Reusable water bottle, gardening gloves (or we have pairs to borrow). All other tools are provided.
Volunteer benefits: Stewardship Saturday volunteers occasionally get to visit some of the CPC preserves that are closed to the public.

TMN COVID-19 Precautions: “For any indoor or outdoor activities that do occur in-person, masks and social distancing considerations are encouraged.”

Fort Bend County COVID-19 Green Advisement: “Resume normal contact with others unless sick. Resume attending public and private gatherings freely. Resume visiting vulnerable populations while practicing good hygiene and social distancing.” The Green risk description reads: “Minimum and controlled level of COVID-19 in Fort Bend County. New chains of transmission are rare.”
