VSP Special SCNP Tuesday Workday

July 2 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am

We’ll be at Seabourne Creek Nature Park on Tuesday from 7:30am to 10:00am. Volunteers can come out anytime during that time and work as much as they like, be it 30 minutes or 2 1/2 hours. There is no obligation to be there by 7:30am or stay until 10:00am.

NOTE: Summer is very definitely here. Be prepared for high heat and humidity. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Dress appropriately – lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing
  • Bring fluids in reusable containers. We will have drinking water available to refill your containers.
  • Work only as long and as much as you want.
  • If you want to work past 10:00, we recommend that you do so with another volunteer as a safety measure.

OTHER REMINDERS: You may want to bring some of the following items with you when you come out:

  • boots or outdoor work shoes (closed toe)
  • sleeves to protect your arms from brush and sun
  • long pants, if you plan to work in the prairie, PPP, or wetlands areas
  • hat
  • sunscreen*
  • bug spray*
  • work gloves*
  • water and a refillable container

* We do have these items in the work shed if you need, but many people may prefer to bring their own.
