“Come join us for our 4th Annual Spring Bird Count on the land at Harrison-Long Point on Saturday, April 15th.
Birders of all levels are welcome. This activity is ideal for birders who don’t mind covering moderate terrain seeking and counting birds in various habitats. Our Spring Bird Count covers various areas of the property ranging up towards 3.5 miles over the course of 4 to 4.5 hours. On average this survey documents approxmately 57 species of birds. Should you wish to bird stationary please let us know in the comments at time of registration.
Participation in this activity is limited; therefore, participants are asked to pre-register below.
Gates open at 6:45am for our early birds, with the group scheduled to depart for the hike promptly at 7:30am. We ask that you please arrive at least 10-minutes early. Upon arrival, please follow the signs to our meeting location within the interior of the property!
Participants are welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy following the completion of our count.
Dress weather appropriate! Our trails consist of mowed paths and in the early mornings the grass can be dewy. If it has been raining in the days leading up to this event, consider rain boots as it will be muddy. Cameras are welcome, but please no flash photography.
All visitors are required to have a currrent Liability Release Waiver on file. We validate waviers for 1-year. New visitors please complete the E-Waiver provided to you in your confirmation email. Returning visitors should you need to complete a new waiver we will reach out to you directly.
