VSP The 2025 Great Texas Birding Classic – Seabourne Big Sit

The 2025 Great Texas Birding Classic is near and we are ready for another wonderful “Big Sit” event at Seabourne Creek Nature Park (SCNP). Seabourne’s Big Sit will take place from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM (park hours), on Sunday, 4/18/2025, at the viewing platform by the wetland. Park your car at the main parking lot. There are a limited number of spaces by the Native Plant Garden.

Our goal is to count as many bird species as possible from inside a predesignated 50′ diameter circle. There will be 2-hour shifts throughout the day with up to 30 people per shift.

Bring your binoculars, a chair for when it’s time for “sitting,” and all the usual items to help you stay comfortable – water, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc. If you have a spotting scope, we’d love for you to bring it.
