Our Cause!
For the last several years, Elm Fork Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists has hosted 4th and 2nd graders of Denton Independent School District for outdoor education at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. We introduce over 4,000 kids to the great outdoors and teach them to appreciate the natural world.
This year poses a real challenge: How to experience nature virtually. We could use your help in acquiring the technical equipment to host these DISD students via their science teachers’ virtual classrooms. We are planning a VIRTUAL HIKE that will allow kids to experience the trails in real time. They will be able to ask questions and learn more than they bargained for from this effort and their teachers’ curriculum will offer the closest thing to being there in person. Please help us to help them!
