Advanced Training – WEBINAR: The Wood Wide Web – 30 Years Later

March 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

>>Record AT hours (without travel) in VMS as: AT: NGO Workshops and Programs on Wildlife Conservation and Land Stewardship<<

I’m excited to invite you to an upcoming online talk hosted by the Central Texas Mycological Society and sponsored by the COA Urban Forestry Grant: “The Wood Wide Web – 30 Years Later.

We all hear about the “Wood Wide Web” – the idea of trees talking and sharing resources through underground fungal networks. But where did this concept actually come from, and what does the latest science really tell us?

This talk will explore the history of this fascinating metaphor, review the body of research, and discuss modern findings that challenge some of our current understanding. It’s sure to be an eye-opening evening for anyone interested in forests, fungi, and the hidden connections in nature.

Event Details:

  • Speaker: Christian Schwarz, co-author of “Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast”
  • Topic: The Wood Wide Web – 30 Years Later
  • When: Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 7 PM CST
  • Where: Online & Free

I think this would be a great event for anyone curious about the natural world.
