BISD Outdoor Education – 3rd Grade

May 21 is the new date for this outdoor education day that had to be rescheduled. 

Volunteer Opportunity: VMS Category: BISD Outdoor Learning Projects

We need lots of volunteers to help with the 100+ 3rd graders that spend a day in the outdoors learning about nature. This program is organized by the Brenham ISD in cooperation with TPWD park rangers at Lake Somerville (Nails Creek Unit). There will be multiple stations and any experience level can help. Bring a sack lunch and your own water. Contact Carol Paulson (cspaulson@hughes.net) if you would like to assist.

New volunteers are welcome and will be paired up with experienced volunteers.

Here is a list of the kinds of activities we do (all activities are curriculum-based):

• Wildlife signs, scat & tracks
• Nature/wildflower scavenger hunt
• Animal charades

Check with Carol to confirm the location for each day. Weather, park closures, and other challenges may require a change of location at the last minute.
