Volunteer Opportunity: VMS Category: BISD Outdoor Learning Projects
We need lots of volunteers to help with the 100+ 3rd graders that spend a day in the outdoors learning about nature. This program is organized by the Brenham ISD in cooperation with TPWD park rangers at Lake Somerville (Nails Creek Unit). There will be multiple stations and any experience level can help. Bring a sack lunch and your own water. Contact Carol Paulson (cspaulson@hughes.net) if you would like to assist. All volunteers for the Brenham ISD outdoor education program may attend a training session in February or March.
Here is a list of the kinds of activities we do (all activities are curriculum-based):
Check with Carol to confirm the location for each day. Weather, park closures, and other challenges may require a change of location at the last minute.
