Texas Cotton Gin Festival at Burton

April 21, 2018

Volunteer Opportunity VMS Category: Outreach Booth

GLC Texas Master Naturalists: The Texas Cotton Gin Festival at Burton will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018. If anyone is willing to create or share a display that will be interesting and informative to the public, like a top ten or personal collection, could you let me know please? In addition,  if you may have any seedlings to donate for sale at the time, I believe we are able to do this. We will need about four people to help with setting up the tent early before the festival opens (about 8:30 am). If your display is large and you plan to attend the festival as well, it would be good to bring a folding table should you have one (you can give your display or plants etc to someone else to bring). Food is available to buy, but you may want to bring a lunch and something to sit on.  You will need to ask the event personnel or another TMN as you arrive to direct you to the parking area. This is good, fun volunteer time. All suggestions to help make our booth successful are welcome. Thank you. Judy Deaton. jadtmn@gmail.com and 713 545 3401

Since our Indian Creek Nature Park is right down on the creek behind the gin, this is a wonderful opportunity to promote the park and our role in creating and enhancing the natural area. We may lead walks down to the park from our booth.
