Indian Creek workday

VMS opportunity: Indian Creek Nature Area
The regular workday for this project is the third Thursday of each month from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Volunteers maintain the pollinator bed and nature trail. Contact project leader Ann Ray for more details.
We are ready to get busy at Indian Creek for Spring. Ann is away and I have and appointment so Dottie Schoeneberg has kindly agreed to direct operations. We plan to meet at Indian Crek Nature Park behind the Texas Cotton gin in Burton from 9am to 11am on Thursday, January 19th.
The tasks will involve (time and volunteer numbers permitting)
Cleaning the trails of sticks
Weedeating around the pollinator garden and Carol’s bench
Weeding the beds
Moving ligustrum logs to the burn pile
If conditions are right, burning the lower burn pile near the bridge and
Pulling up small ligustrum seedlings
