King Ranch Bluestem ID & Management – Hands-on Workshop at Nellie Gail Ranch

Does identifying and managing King Ranch (KR) Bluestem seem as complicated as pronouncing Bothriochloa ischaemum? In this workshop, you will learn how to identify KR and have an opportunity to practice individual plant treatment.

  • 9:00 a.m. – Gates open
  • 9:20 a.m.-9:45 a.m. – KR ID with Tim
  • 9:45 a.m.-10:00 a.m. – Mixing herbicide demo
  • 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. – Hands-on practice (thinly veiled workday)
  • 11:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m. – Rejoin for an after-action report and lessons learned
  • 12:00 p.m. Lunch (provided)

Participation is FREE and lunch is included.
Bring a sprayer if you have one. Herbicide provided.
Dress for the prairie: long pants, long-sleeve shirt, brimmed hat, gloves, and closed-toe shoes.
