VMS Opportunity- Volunteer Project- Citizen Science Odolympics TPWD
Wow – I hope you watched Sam Kieschnick talk about the amazing odonata during today’s TMN Tuesday. If you missed it, you can catch the recording (posted soon here: https://txmn.tamu.edu/tmntuesdays/#june )
I learned so much and enjoyed the extraordinary photos. AND, big news – those of us on iNaturalist (that’s everyone, right?) have an opportunity to join in on a citizen science project coming up June 19 through June 27, called Odolympics. The focus is to collect as many dragonfly/damselfly observations as possible all across the western hemisphere.
So go to your iNaturalist account, find the Odolympics project then follow the instructions carefully to join that project and also create an account at Odonata Central.
Then we’ll be ready to go dragon hunting starting June 19th.
Your hours recording observations for an iNaturalist PROJECT count as volunteer hours so keep track and log them into VMS as Citizen Science.
