The Texas Independence Day Celebration at Washington of the Brazos State Historic Site returns on Saturday, February 28, 2026 (https://wheretexasbecametexas.org/events/texas-independence-day-celebration-8/).  The event will officially run from 10:00 am through 6:00 pm.  We will have our own display tent/booth in the Childress Courtyard in front of the Visitors Center. Food and drink will be available on site, or you may bring your own.  I will have a few chairs with me, but I recommend you bring your own. Our 2026 class trainees are welcome to come out also (schedule permitting). It is my plan to have a couple of educational displays focused on the kids and adults attending. I will also provide bottled water for our volunteers. Please be parked and ready by 9am.
