VMS opportunity: Washington on the Brazos State Park
The next Workday in the GLC pollinator garden at Washington-on-the-Brazos is scheduled for Saturday, January 30 from 9 am to 11 am. It’ll be 8 weeks since our last WoB Workday, so we’ll need to get the garden ready for Spring and for the visitors who come to see the Park’s wildflowers.
The weather prediction for Saturday looks good for working outside. Being mindful of the current restrictions, be sure to wear your mask and plan to maintain a distance from other people of 6 ft. outside and 10 ft. inside.
Bring gloves and small trowel or other tool for digging up weeds, and don’t forget to bring water, sunscreen and a hat. We plan to thin the Maximilian sunflowers and transplant a few plants that haven’t been happy in their present locations, so bringing a shovel would be a helpful.
Anyone interested in helping in the garden is welcome. If you have questions, please contact Julie Itz.
