A small group of GWMN members visited Wright’s Nursery up Hwy 183 at Briggs, Texas, to assess opportunities for us to be of service. There is a need for us to help with the propagation and re-potting of native plants for this establishment which has provided plants to our chapter in the past.
They prefer that we volunteer during the morning hours, and SATURDAYS are also available. They request that we send no more than 5 individuals at a time, and that we provide 48 hours advance notice so that they can have the proper materials gathered.
Our own Lori Merlino has agreed to coordinate with the nursery, but she will not be going every time. Carpooling would be advised.
This is a situation in which we will grant Volunteer Hours, but in the process you will have an opportunity to gain knowledge about individual native plants, such as general growing requirements, distribution, mature size, etc.
