Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department has adopted a management plan for the pond at Berry Springs which will promote a healthy habitat for native plants, fish, birds, and other inhabitants. Every two weeks excessive weeds (algae, charra, and muskgrass) will be manually removed from sections of the pond, using a rope and a rake. The weeds will be recycled and used as compost.
Wednesday, March 12th, from 8:30 a.m. till noon, has been designated as such a workday. Volunteers will be working with Williamson County Juvenile Services.
