Our neighboring chapter to the north is hosting the Central Texas Nature Fest. The Nature fest is Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bend of the River, on I-35 in Belton. Very easy to get to. They are expecting 1000 people, with 550 children. This event is free to the public.
They have requested helping in working the activity booths. This is a great way to get some volunteer hours as well as meet folks from the neighboring chapter.
Some of the activites where they can use help are butterfly craft/insect collection, Oil Spill Effects on Bird Feathers, Native plant booth-seed cookies. They will have another meeting next week, and Mary Ann Everett will know what other booths are needing help at that time.
