City of Georgetown & Williamson County Conservation Foundation – Water Quality Regulation Meeting

October 30, 2014 by Mary Ann Melton

This is probably not Advanced Training or Volunteer Service, but I received this from Ray Wahrenbrock and thought our members might be interested in attending.

The City of Georgetown and Williamson County Conservation Foundation will be hosting a meeting on November 13, 2014, at 3:30 P.M. in the Georgetown Community Center located in San Gabriel Park to discuss certain water quality regulations for properties located over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone. This meeting will review the procedures for moving forward with the proposed 4(d) special Rule for the Georgetown Salamander by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition, it will address the processes with which development will proceed, and will offer landowners and developers the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers about applicable development standards and procedures.

Please note that this meeting will only discuss development inside Georgetown’s city limits and its ETJ in regards to the Georgetown Salamander and applicable water quality regulations. The Jollyville Plateau Salamander will not be discussed at this meeting as it was listed without a 4(d) special Rule.

We hope you will attend what is sure to be an informative meeting, and look forward to working with you in reaching our common goal of protecting water quality.
