Berry Springs Park Blue Bird Nest Monitoring

January 14, 2015 by glennkleinert

We will be visiting the Eastern Blue Bird (EABL) nest boxes at Berry Springs Park 1801 CR 152 Georgetown, Texas 78626 just before our regularly scheduled amphibian monitoring, on Saturday January 17.  Pam Goolsby, the nest box trail steward, has already done the general maintenance but we will be needing to soap the inside walls of each box  (to prevent paper wasps from attaching their nests) before any prospective tenants start their house hunting.  We will begin with the nest boxes at 4:30pm and go until 5:45pm, take a short break and those interested can then head down to the amphibian monitoring at 5:55.

Pam is also distributing/selling Texas Bluebird Society nestboxes.  If you are interested in getting a nest box ($17.00 includes membership to Texas bluebird Society and a free nest box; renewing members pay tax on the boxes) contact Pam at [email protected].
