Wildlife Habitat Classes -March 14, April 25 – Hutto

Save the dates:  March 14 and April 25 – Wildlife Habitat Classes

Classes take place from 8:00 am to noon at Hutto Lutheran Church at 402 Church Street, Hutto

Classes are free, donations accepted.

Schedule for March 14 is as follows:
• 8-8:30 a.m. Meet and Greet
• 8:30-9:15 a.m. Cindy Stone: NWF Community Wildlife Habitat Certification program with 2015 goals and collaboration with Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas
• 9:30-10:30 a.m. Kelly Simon: Gardening for Wildlife
• 10:30-11:30 a.m. Cathy Downs, Bring Back the Monarch to Texas program
Schedule for April 25 is as follows:
• 8-8:30 a.m. Meet and Greet
• 8:30-9:15 a.m., Cindy Stone: NWF Community Wildlife Habitat Certification program with 2015 goals and collaboration with Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas
• 9:30-10:30 a.m. Meredith O’Reilly: Wildlife Gardening
• 10:30-11:30 a.m. Introduction to native plants in wildlife gardens
I (Cindy Stone) am a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward and president of the Williamson County Native Plant Society of Texas. She is co-leader of Hutto Community Wildlife Habitat Program.
Kelly Simon works as an urban biologist with the Urban Wildlife Program for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She authored “Texas Wildscapes, Gardening for Wildlife.”
Cathy Downs is chair for Bring Back the Monarch to Texas, which is a project under Native Plant Society of Texas and in partnership with University of Kansas, Monarch Watch.
Meredith O’Reilly is a Texas Master Naturalist, NWF Habitat Steward and Travis Audubon member. She enjoys teaching people of all ages about native flora and fauna, and healthy environments. Website: www.greatstems.com
