Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge will be holding their Songbird Festival in late April and have opportunities for volunteer service particularly during the family day on April 26, which is called Fledgling Fest. The event starts at noon and runs until 5:00 p.m. Help is needed in logistical, and in youth and family activities (Find The Birdy; Help families make bird masks; Bird Hurdles; Be a Good Egg). Volunteers should arrive an hour early to help with set up of stations and activities. Anyone interested in assisting in this effort should contact Cindy Fronk for sign up and additional information. Volunteer hours reported cannot be counted for both Balcones Canyonlands credit and TXMN credit.
Directions: From Georgetown drive west on Hwy 29 and turn left (south) on Hwy 183 and proceed to the intersection with Hwy 1431. Turn right (west) and drive approximately 20 miles to the Canyonlands.
