Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge (BCNWR) has scheduled Refuge Week for October 11 – 17 at Doeskin Ranch.  They need Volunteers to assist with all the following activities:

1. New Environment Education activities, Monarchs and Pollinators

2. Monarch tagging

3. Speaking about the plight of the Monarch

4. Plant Walks/Landscaping for pollinators

5. Setting up and breaking down

You can see the schedule for Refuge Week as well as “What’s happening at the Refuge” (ongoing volunteer activities and upcoming events) on the Friends of Balcones website.  Training regarding Monarchs and Pollinators can also be scheduled by going to the Friends of Balcones website.  To volunteer for these activities or for additional information, contact  Jane Brunclik at [email protected] or 512 466 6813.

The BCNWR Headquarters is located on FM 1431 approximately 4 miles west of Lago Vista.
