Berry Springs Park Pond Cleaning Up with Juvenile Services Reschedueled

March 7, 2019 by kateknight

We have rescheduled the Pond Clean Up with Juvenile Services for Wed. Mar. 20th 8:30am till noon.

If interested in participating please sign up by responding to this email. We will be raking and water tilling the pond to remove aquatic vegetation. You will be working from the waters edge. Bring work gloves, dress appropriately for the weather, water bottle, and a snack if you like. The vegetation will be used in the parks compost to fertilize the trees, shrubs and flower beds.

We will meet at the Tonkawa Pavilion at 8:30 am located on the top of the hill across from the restrooms and sign in and then head to the pond where we will work til 12noon.

With the crazy weather we have been dress appropriately for the weather. Bring work gloves, a water bottle, preferably rubber boots or water shoes. You will not be getting into the water but will be on the waters edge.

Besides making the pond look beautiful the aquatic vegetation removed is mixed with our compost and later used throughout the park for planting and fertilizing.
There will be three other pond work days scheduled this summer.
Announcements with dates and times will be sent out in order to sign up.
