Bat Chat with the Cub Scouts

November 15, 2016 by

Heartwood chapter TMN, Mari Hanley, gave a presentation on bats to the Cub Scouts on Oct.27, 2016.

Cub Scout Pack 1774 will build four bat houses to be placed in the George Mitchell Preserve in The Woodlands.  The Woodlands Development Company approved the placement of the bat houses in the preserve, and The Spring Creek Nature Preserve approved plans.  The idea of this project is to teach the boys about being active in conservation, making them into more environmentally-conscious adults.  The pack has about 29 boys age 6 to 12 years old.

Mari presented a slide show on bats & bat houses. She also exhibited a display table of bat pictures, information, a skeleton, and a bat myths game.
