Junior Texas Master Naturalist Program

“In the end, we will conserve only what we love;
we will love only what we understand,
and we will understand only what we are taught.”

Baba Dioum

The Heartwood Chapter will be introducing a new Junior Master Naturalist class each Fall. Classes will take place one Saturday each month, typically starting in September and ending in June. The Junior Texas Master Naturalist is for students between the ages of 9 and 13.

The classes will be at different locations around north Harris, Montgomery, and Walker counties so students can visit some of our local nature centers and parks while learning from environmental educators who are experts in their field. A parent or guardian must attend each session with their child.

Completion of the Junior Master Naturalist Program requires 10 hours of initial training and 6 hours of volunteer services.  Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9-11am, plus optional volunteer service to 12:30 pm.

Registration for the class is $50 to cover the necessary materials. A link to PayPal will be shared when the application is accepted.
