Greetings Greenbelt Guardians!
We have been asked to help with an Eagle Scout Project. Our Task Force will assist Scouts in remediating the pollinator habitat by removing deep-rooted sedge and other vines in preparation for new native plantings. If you can assist, please register with the following form so the Scout can keep track of his “helpers” for his report:
Sunday, February 18
Target species: Deep-rooted sedge and other vines
Activity: Plant removal, bagging and hauling
Location: Sterling Ridge Park and Ride
Park: 8001 McBeth Way
Time: 1 – 4pm (come when you can, leave when you must)
Dress for the elements, sturdy waterproof shoes or boots, garden gloves and hat; also bring a shovel, bug repellent and plenty of water.
Wear your Invasives t-shirt or, if this is your first time volunteering with ITF, claim your shirt!
Other helpful tools: eye protection, hand pruners, digging trowels. The Township has some tools to loan but, if you have your own tools please bring them labeled with your name.
Reply to this email if you can join us or text me at 936-760-9400 with any questions.
