2022 – Texas Waters Specialist Seminar

September 22, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Texas Waters Specialist program offered by Texas Parks and Wildlife will present How One Community is Tackling Their Water Quality Issues featuring Teri MacArthur, Environmental Education Specialist at The Woodlands Township-Environmental Services Department.
Hear Teri talk about organizing volunteers to work through Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) to install storm drain markers; hold park talks to discuss the issues of bacteria, low DO, and other pollutants; and build community awareness. Cities and other municipalities may work through their utility departments, and the effort would need an agency/entity facilitator/organizer, but the activities are transferable to lots of locations and are especially possible for Master Naturalists across the state to consider as a package they could offer a MUD/Utility if funding is provided by the beneficiary organization.
Presenter:  Teri MacArthur 281-210-3928 (Direct)

NOTE:  This is open to all Heartwood members but counts toward Texas Waters Certification for those who are certifying.

VMS code for those who are certifying: AT: Texas Waters Certification (Description:  How One Community is Tackling Their Water Quality Issues)
VMS code for those who are not certifying:  AT: Single Presentation (Description:  How One Community is Tackling Their Water Quality Issues)
