Chapter Meeting

February 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

NOTE:  “Networking” starts at 6:00 p.m.; the business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
Speaker:  Lauren Gaulding, Education and Conservation Specialist, Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary

Presentation:  Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Navasota, Texas. Its mission is to provide exceptional lifelong sanctuary to non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs, while sharing a message of education and conservation.

This presentation will focus on

  • the history of wolves in Texas,
  • how to identify a wolf vs. a dog,
  • the ecological niche wolves fill,
  • current threats to wolves, and
  • ongoing conservation efforts in the United States.

Heartwood Chapter Meetings are scheduled monthly on the second Wednesday (except December) at 6 p.m. on the first floor of Sam Houston State University, Woodlands Campus, 3380 College Park Dr, The Woodlands.
