Creekside Park West Monthly Bird Walk/Survey

Bayou Land Conservancy and Houston Audubon will resume the monthly (Saturdays) bird walks/surveys at Creekside Park West beginning Saturday, Sept 3.

The walks begin at 7:30 a.m. from the George Mitchell Nature Preserve Trailhead, the parking area located at the end of Dr. Anne Snyder Drive, and walk approximately 2.5 miles until around 10:00 a.m.

​The walk meanders along the Spring Creek Nature trail, a natural surface trail around ponds and tranquil wetlands, through trees and natural grassy areas; therefore you should wear hiking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, as there may be muddy areas along the trail and a sandy/rocky stream crossing that we may cross depending on the amount of water at the time. The varied habitat at Creekside Park provides food and shelter for many songbirds, raptors and shore birds, and we see approximately 50 different species during the walks. Bring your binoculars, insect repellent, and water.  Please note there are no restroom facilities at the Park.

If you’ve already completed a BLC waiver there is no need to submit another.  Registration is helpful, but not mandatory.
