Seeking Texas Master Naturalists Volunteers to assist with data collection!
Avery O. Tatters is a biologist at the Gulf Ecosystem Measurement and Modeling Division within the Office of Research of Development at the U.S. EPA. He received his Ph.D. in Marine Environmental Biology/Biological Oceanography from the University of Southern California and focused on the ecology of phytoplankton, cyanobacteria, and emerging infectious diseases for nearly two decades. Avery’s current research projects/interests include benthic or mat-forming cyanobacteria, biologically derived aquatic contaminants, greenhouse gas sources, and microbial interactions, all furthering ecological exploration.  He also maintains an extensive algal culture collection.
