Feral Pigs and Water Issues

Wild pigs are an invasive species with cascading impacts to agriculture, property, and natural resources. Texas watersheds are particularly vulnerable to damage. Damage includes soil erosion, bacterial contamination, bank erosion and changes to vegetation, all of which affect water quality and wildlife. In this webinar we’ll discuss the impacts pigs have and the benefits of control.

About the speaker: Mike Bodenchuk is a professional wildlife biologist with considerable experience in feral swine management and predation control. He worked in the private sector here in Texas and recently retired from a 34-year career with USDA-Wildlife Services- the last 17 years of which he served as the State Director for the Cooperative Texas Wildlife Services program. He remains professionally active in wild pig control. He lives near Hondo, Tx.
