Volunteers will be allowed to drive out to Middle Lake to park during this event. Invasive Removal Project Map. The primary invasive species in this area is Chinese Tallow.
Removal/treatment methods:
- Hand pulling young seedlings
- Cutting tallows (1-2 inch diameter) at ground level
- Girdling tallows (2+ inch diameter)
Helpful tools:
- Gloves
- Pruners
- Loppers
- Handsaws
- Paint scrapers
- Wire brush (for scraping the cambium layer of girdled trees)

Jaden has a decent number of gloves on hand as well as a handful of pruners, loppers, and handsaws.
Dress for the elements with long pants, long sleeves, sturdy waterproof shoes or boots, garden gloves and hat; also bring bug repellent and water.
