Learn to Bird is an in-person program that is geared towards new birders or people that want to take their birding passion on the road and explore new birding destinations. This year Learn to Bird will take place in the picturesque town of Leakey, TX nestled in the hill country. Learn to Bird will be November 3-5. We will have an experienced guide, Barbara Pankratz, to help participants hone their birding skills. There will be insightful educational programs by AgriLife faculty and birding experts.
For more information about the event or to register, people can visit our website, Birding with Extension.
All meals will be included in registration. If desired, participants can choose to make their own accommodations or stay at River Haven Cabins where accommodations have already been made. Simply choose from the 2 options given during registration:
Attending with a Partner/Spouse: During registration, choose “Double Registration – Attending with Partner/Spouse” to get a reduced rate for sharing a room/bed.
Attending with a Friend: Register with the “Single Registration” option and mention your preferred roommate. Both participants should register separately and list each other as roommates.
Solo Attendee: Simply select “Single Registration”. You’ll have your own room in a cabin, sharing the bathroom, kitchen, and lounge areas either with someone of the same gender or a couple in the adjacent room.
