You may start with a calming morning of Yoga to relax the mind and open your senses for a follow up experience in observing nature and learning ways to keep a meaningful journal of your experiences in the “wild.” SEE OPTIONS BELOW.
The Yoga Class will be an all levels yoga flow with a focus on grounded postures to promote a relaxing experience in the comfort of the forest. Please bring your own yoga mat, towel, water, props like blocks or strap, or anything else you would need to help you feel your best practicing yoga.
The Nature Journaling Class will include walking through areas of the forest near the pond and sitting or standing for several minutes at a time. Participants should bring a trash bag or similar item to sit on, a notebook of your choice, a writing instrument, and drinking water. Please dress appropriately for the activities, the weather, and wear suitable shoes/boots for uneven ground, and bring any desired bug spray or other items you may need.
Let’s meet at the large pond on the south side of FM1488 at Jones Forest. Registrants will receive a map to direct you to the location for the morning as well as updates and reminders about this unique forest experience.
